We're OK in Memphis. Right now ther is a massive hailstorm in Olive Branch, MS, just across the state line.

We're OK in Memphis. Right now ther is a massive hailstorm in Olive Branch, MS, just across the state line.

There's a few trees down in the University of Memphis area, some a foot or better in diameter, and MLG&W had to restore power in a couple of instances where trees crashing down brought power lines down with them. And there's assorted trash and garbage that had been awaiting the Monday morning trash pickup all over the place, but in all, it could have been a whole lot worse.

I recall Olive Branch as taking a pretty good hit a couple of years back, with several of the aircraft at the Olive Branch Airport ending up on their backs or smashed into each other. But there was no loss of life then as I recall.

Prayers for all those in this area. I just moved from Millington, just north of Memphis. My family and I were lucky to have narrowly escaped many of these violent, fast-moving storms over a 4 year period. They seemed to always miss that part of TN. Wonder if it has to do with the Mississippi River and the bluffs acting as a buffer.
