US-Aussie ties at high tide: Bush

This is a perfect, classic example of media bias.

Bush did not say "high tide," he said, ties between the US and Australia were at an all time high.

A "high tide" implies a peak and a cyclical change, so it is implied the relationship will inevitably begin to worsen soon.

"The Australians are heroes in this war."

Absolutely, they are heroes. "Just throw another terrorist on the barby, mate."

There is a group of men that are absolutely not afraid of any Hezbollah guerillas infiltrating Iraq--they're called the Australian SAS.

Don't you just love the angliosphere? Does Britain know how to colonize or what? Both the U.S. and Australia owe a great debt of gratitude to the mother country. Canada got hung by the Quebeckers, but that's another story. :)

Bravo the Anglosphere! Now let's see the creation of an AngloForce, a replacement for NATO that includes only nations that function as democracies, recognize individual rights, promote impartial law consistent with Anglo-American principles, and act internationally to advance or defend those values as circumstances require.

Out with the old alliances, which impose so much trouble and cost and have turned into shackles around our ankles. Out with the United Nations, now nothing but a playground for elitist snobs and unwashed tyrants. Let's buddy up with our fellows who have at least the beginnings of an understanding of freedom.

Freedom, Wealth, and Peace,

Australia has been a true friend to the US. This isn't something the US should take for granted in perpetuity. It's a country more Americans would do well to learn more about and understand better.

For some of the origins of this relationship, see The Politics of War reviewed.
