It could very well be that Blair succumbs to political pressure. I would encourage him to remember this passage, spoken by Jesus.

"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the holy angels." (Luke 9:25-26 NKJV)

No one is ashamed, so that quote is not relavent in this situation. We believe there is a time and a place for celebrating religion publicly which is at Church or with members of your congregation if they are happy to partake in the conversation. It does not mean it is any less in your heart and it is between man and his God.
Otherwise, I do not see how anyone can complain about Islam wanting to spread their religion if that is what the Christian goal is here?
