encouraging them to fight, he was sending them off to certain death

What was that book/movie? Playing for Hitler? Fiddling for Hitler? About Jews that played orchestra music to soothe and reassure the new arrivals on their way to the showers.

Regarding your post #65.....There was a movie called 'Playing for Time' about several women in the concentration camps, who were asked to put together an orchestra, to play to entertain the German officers in the camps...perhaps they also were requested to play for the new camp arrivals, and for those on their way to the showers...

In this way, many of them were able to avoid being sent to the showers themselves, and thus lived to be liberated from the camps....

Vanessa Redgrave played the main player and conductor of the orchestra, and there was quite a fuss at the time...because in real life, Redgrave supported the Palestinians, and the Jewish community was outraged that she was given the role of this Jewish orchestra leader....when the Jewish community could not get Redgrave removed from the picture, they asked that all people boycott the movie....

Oh, my, how horrible. And yes, quite reminiscent of Baghdad Bob's behavior, too -- which causes me to consider that Baghdad Bob may have had little choice but to do his job, just like the Jewish fiddlers.
