The April 27 Style article about the White House correspondents' dinner reported on the lack of Hollywood antiwar activists at the event, noting in contrast with a distinct descriptive paragraph that "the main protest that took place outside the dinner was about . . . tax cuts" by the Fair Taxes for All Coalition, a liberal group opposed to President Bush's proposed tax cuts.
Not reported was a larger, more boisterous demonstration held at the same time across the street from the anti-Bush group. That protest, organized by the conservative D.C. chapter of FreeRepublic.com, criticized liberal bias in the media and featured the announcement of the winners of Free Republic's Garofalo Awards.
SNIP
Reporting only the liberal protest outside the dinner and ignoring the larger conservative one helps to once again reinforce your paper's reputation for liberal bias.

Being that The Post is snippy about full-text articles, this brief missive has been edited for posting. The letter also describes the Garofalos, who won and the TV news coverage of the protests.

Hey, it's YOUR letter and you can do anything you want with it. Let's see the entire thing. Did they edit it at all? I will NEVER click on the WP website and really really really want to read your entire letter. Pretty please?

Way to go! But don't forget to mention Garofalo gave Bill Clinton an award at the "Seeds for Peace". The Kosovo bombings killed about half as many civilians as did freeing Iraq. So don't forget to ask her (or her supporters / anti-war activists) when does it go from being "a great peace-maker" to "as evil as Hussein".

Good letter, Kristinn. Im surprised they printed it. Im also surprised they mentioned Bill Clinton was Garafalo winner-considering the fact that the Washington Post enabled, condoned, fostered, shaped, molded, abetted, contributed to, allowed, justified, glorified, and championed the Clinton Occupation.

They called me late Thursday afternoon. They told me it would be edited for style and space. I have no complaints. The editing was minimal: style corrections and one redundant sentence edited out.

Good job. Your real proof of media bias was quite evident. Wish more people were aware of it. Considering that the Washington Post was owned by the late Katherine Graham Post, one of the biggest, wealthiest, elitists RATS, I wasn't surprised when FR wasn't mentioned. Assume her offspring is running the show at the Post, and continuning their RATS microscopic view.

It was a slam dunk case. Publishing this letter is their own way of eating Garofalo....

Congratulations for getting your letter published.
The WP, in a way, was forced to hoist itself on its own petard.
