There are 500 rounds in a brick of 22 LR ammo. That will cost you $50 in fees. Or for a 50 round box, it is a $5.00 fee. They have written it so that if you buy ammo out of state, but use or store it in CA, you still have to pay the "use fee".

If my math is correct and this story correct and if the bill passes, then that $10 brick goes to $60.00 ($10 + tax)

We have an informal IDPA style shooting match every Tuesday at our local club. I mentioned to one of the guys loading his Ruger .22 that his brick was going to cost another $50 in California. His reply?, "I guess I'd switch to a 1911 if I was going to pay that much anyway."

Talk about unintended consequences. I like this one, everyone in Cali upgrading to 1911s and Glock.
