If people want to label me a "neocon" I'd wear that label proudly. Neocons are people who reacted to 9/11 with horror, and a resolve that it never happen again.

On the other hand, it seemed to me that paleocons were people who reacted to the atrocity with almost a sense of cheerfulness, a "we had it coming" smugness--again, I point to Justin Raimondo's posts here that afternoon.

100% Aryan here, by the way.

Yes, the Paleocons are the Buchanan types who sound more like raving Leftists, KKK members, and Muslim extremists at this point. Like most all of the former-Freepers like Arator who after being banned from FR, went off to form Bush-bashing sites like Liberty Forum and Liberty Post. Sick, twisted conspiracy types who love to talk about "golems" and like to label our goverment as "ZOG".

Cultural paleos like me reacted just the same as any neocon.

Anyone who became conservative because of 9-11 is more than welcome but we will have issues if they bring their social liberalism with them....and many do.

"100% Aryan here, by the way."

Unless you are a follow of Hitler this term is, except in a linguistic sense, a nonsense. I assume you mean that you are of German origin.

paleocons...I point to Justin Raimondo's

Would you call Raimondo a paleocon? As I understand the word, it just means people who were always conservative, not converts. Raimondo on the other hand is a weird kind of isolationist; he's still following Lindbergh in 1940 when even Lindbergh changed his tune after Pearl harbor.

I didn't see Raimondo's raves that day, because I was already tuning him and antiwar.com and Lew Rockwell (any relation to George Lincoln Rockwell? Anybody know?) out long before then, and I knew that these guys aren't living in the rational world. The people I saw taking satisfaction from 9/11 were mostly liberals, the "million Mogadishus mongoloids" of academe.

I do recall that the departed (and unlamented) Michael Rivero and his tinhat chorus were trying to hang it on the CIA before the dust had settled.

Well I guess I'm more of a paleocon and I wanted war for 9/11 as well. In fact alot of us paleocon's have been wondering why the hell we went to war in the gulf in the first place and not finish the job. Alot of us paleocons have been wondering why we told the Iraqi people to rebel and when they did, the US turned its back on them. So Saddam stayed and his support of terrorists remained in Iraq.

Havent a certain group of paleocons been complaining about illegal aliens in this country and the threat of terrorism? But the response has always been "isolationist", "paranoid", "racist" etc.. 9/11

We still have a problem with illegal aliens and our borders, we still have china and north korea to threaten us with nuclear weapons. Instead of avoiding collisions I guess we'll do things the neocon way and just crash.
