ESPN just reported that the trustees of the State University were called to a meeting by the Chancellor today and they will recommend that the Alabama football coach be fired.
It was reported earlier in the week in the local papers that the coach had allowed a stripper to spend $1,000.00 on a credit card in his name at a local hotel.

I am much more disgusted by the really stupid people given 4 year full rides to colleges because they can play a game. The coach and waste of money on women is nothing compared to the millions wasted on some of these NFL and NBA prospects that cannot even speak clearly.

We moved to Alabama about 18 months ago from Atlanta. The radio station that carries Rush follows his show with The Paul Finebaum (spelling?) Show. This sports talk show has crucified Price ever since he came to Alabama. I'm sure the listeners are delighted that Price has stepped in it so they have something to complain about. I realize that in Alabama football is a religion, but feel that because Price is not SEC, he never had a chance. I'm not defending what he did but feel it's totally being blown out of proportion. Again, not being SEC is the reason.

I think the police arrested stripper mom for credit card fraud, so the Smoking Gun.com should have the mugshots soon..

Wasn't Bama on probation already, or something to that effect?

So he's getting some from a Hooker. Big deal. I'm sure the other colleges in the SEC are very happy that the fundamentalists control the Alabama football program. We also need to remember that the next time Bama gets a good program. Just send some Ho's out there to do some dirty work and find a way to keep track of it!! Use them to your advantage.

Yesterday, on a local/statewide radio sports show hosted by Paul Finebaum, a friend of Price's went on air to defend him and ended up letting the cat out of the bag about Price having a drinking problem and saying that Price had admitted to him that he woke up with the woman in the room but doesn't know how she got there. The host kept asking him why Price left the woman in the room while he went to play golf. No answer for that one.
The friend went on to say (the friend is Drew Bledsole's dad) that he thinks someone set Price up.
My question is why would anyone set up a coach that no one expects to win any way? He was the best thing that ever happened to Alabama's rivals!!!

I don't think it's so much the non SEC thing. It's that Price got there and started acting like he was Bear Bryant on Viagra and the locals don't cotton too much to that kind of stuff.
If he had been a winner, which he will not get the chance to prove now, they would of cannonized him, even if he was from Iraq.
Mal Moore is part of the problem here. He wanted to hire a buddy, not someone who would buck him.
IMHO, Moore is the one who really needs to go.
Why he hired a coach who is not at all familar with the style of play that Alabama is skilled in is the question of the year. I mean, what was he thinking?

There is a rider in his contract about any kind of behavior that brings any shame on the University. But he hadn't even signed the contract!!!

"totally being blown "
You probably used the right words but in the wrong context. Price was probably Clintonesque in his performance at the hotel. I don't feel sorry for himat all. I feel for his wife.
Fire his ass!!

Have to admit I'm being duplicitous. I don't feel sorry for Hillary!

I'm disgusted with college sports offering scholarships as well. Colleges should not be "minor leagues" for the NBA and NFL. Scholarships should be offered on the basis of academic achievement only. No wonder this nation is getting so dumbed down when colleges put more emphasis on the ability to dribble a basketball than the ability to excel in mechanical engineering or physics.

The real story is this:
Price went back to his hotel to gamble with Bill Bennett .......and they needed someone
to deal the cards.....and Twinkle Toes was available!

Sounds like a scam to me. Lonely old fart goes to the to a club for a drink & peek, a huslter puts something in his drink. She drags him off to his hotel room, and then orders all this stuff, and splits the take with an accomplice. Of course none of you moralists would do anything like that being away from home,by your self, living in a motel.

Don't necessarily agree with your scenario, but it did remind me of a (true) story of Alabama politics.
Big Jim Folsom was running for gevernor. Opponent, knowing Big Jim, had a hooker approach him, get him drunk and in bed for the inevitable photo op. When the story broke, Big Jim gave a speech and said, "Ya know, when ya wanna get Big Jim, a bottle of whiskey and a blonde will do it every time."
He won the election.

Yep, your right. The primary recruiter for the program goes to a T&A club using a state credit card, hooks up with a dancer, goes back to his motel and passes out. Sounds like Auburn set him up for sure...
