Let us take it as read that he is not as verbally fluid as his predecessor, who was positively brimming with fluids.

Opinion on the Right seems to be divided. Howard Feinman on MSNBC said it was the "strong horse" speech: Howard Feinman? Is Steyn talking about the leftward leaning Howard Fineman of Newsweek?

The Madness of George Dubya is really an example of the madness George Dubya causes in his opponents. For sure.
Watching all the events on the carrier, all I could keep saying to my wife was, "I'll bet the Liberals are just going crazy, spitting in fury and gnashing their teeth!"
I think this event has cemented more votes for GWB than about anything he has yet done. He came off looking like a genuine leader, Commander-in-Chief and President in all senses of the word. There is nobody in the competition - or even the leaders of the World - who could even hold a candle to this man after this demonstration. All the opposition can now do is try and tear him down.
But, after this, I don't think most Americans will want them to. We love our Heroes, not our Policy Wonks ('kudos' to Miss Marple's phrase). We have not had one of these in a long, long time. GWB looks and acts the part - and does so genuinely. clinton was the anti-hero. GWB is the real article!

Nice color coordination by CondiAye. She's got a sort of 'Executive Camoflouge' thing going on there.

This may be the beginning (the barest beginnings) of the end of the undue influence of television. Insightful comments. Food for thought.

Steyn is the greatest "third-rate hack" there is ... and if he is 3rd rate, where does that put Ivans, Alterman, Dowd, and all the other hysterical leftwing-nuts?

As far as the flight suit goes... Actually, you're onto a military secret here. If your parachute harness is on right, there are two leg straps that run around the inside of the thighs, that are snugged down pretty tight.
This makes any, er, material in between kind of bulge out. Sort of a codpiece effect. I think that's why the brass frowns on wearing flight suits (let alone parachute harnesses) in public -- trying to keep from losing their wives and daughters!

"Apologies to you and the rest of the men on FR for the bawdy performance of us women on Thursday. I just don't know what came over us!!!"LOLOL! I know what you are saying. I caught myself saying, "Oh, MY!" at a couple of the pictures. But REAL WOMEN do love manly, confident men. It's not so much what he LOOKS like, but the competence and responsibility he projects. God bless and keep our good, MANLY President.

Between now and January 2009, whatever Bush does he'll always be a dummy to the smart set.I like the 2009 part. Being underestimated is a hugh BUSH asset, as is the LEFT'S series overestimation of themselves.

Oh dear, now all the soccer moms will be searching out the pictures of our president in his flight suit.
What really helped was the pilot the next day talking to CNN and when asked if the pres was woosey after the flight stated "No, he's a stud". When you get that kind of respect from men who are proven warriors you can't get much better. The man is respected by those who protect this nation. That's good enough for me.
To: George W. Bush
I don't get this part. Steyn discusses it as though somehow presidential handlers managed to find or alter a flight suit for prominent display. I think you are referring to this paragraph...
"Okay, it was about a tenth of the size of the one in Berkeley, but that just shows you how bad things are going. And don't give me that hung-like-a-stallion stuff. That's just the way they design those army suits, to ease the sexual insecurities of the impotent white American male - see Norman Mailer, at great length. You want a real strong horse? Check out the guy second from the left in the New York City Ballet..."
In which Steyn is mocking what the democrats may be saying and not that he's saying that. You know... the pea-green-with-envy Democrats.
To: MadIvan
Some, however, thought the stallionesque aspects were excessive: Andrew Sullivan
worries that the President appeared "hubristic".
As much as I respect some of Sullivan's writings, it seems time has blunted his
ability to assess hubris.
Wagging a finger at America, telling them you "did not have sex with that woman",
then wasting the time of your cabinet by sending them forth to deny all charges and
slime (again) a young female...
...and thinking that would make it all go away like magic...
Now that "IS" what HUBRIS "IS".

OMG!! I don't watch CNN too much so I missed that. That's a great quote. I wonder if the 'rats have any teeth left - grinding and knashing of teeth is harmful to dental health. LOL.
TrustbutVerify, I'll admit to thinking bawdy thoughts - but I don't think I actually typed anything that would hold up in court!!! OMG seeing those pictures of our President again....oh my, GET THE FAN !!!

The only thing the Left has going for them is making fun of GW, and calling him a moron and stupid, but they have nothing to support their claims except a few mispronunciations. GW is not only consistent but also a great leader, and his actions speak for themselves
something the Left can't laugh about.
