we still need 3% growth this year and next year, or the Dems+ media will try a rerun of 1992.

I think a rerun of 1972 is more likely.

We'll have 5% GDP growth next year, but we need about 4% and 5% unemployment next year for an easy re-election. Also, look at the Expectations Index in consumer confidence. After 4 straight monthly declines, it popped up in April. People will support Bush if they think we are heading in the right direction. We don't need immediate results, just the sense that Bush is steering us well. I believe that this index will continue to go up unabated. We're nowhere near where we were last April (the peak in the last 12 months)-- so there is a lot of upside.

I seriosly doubt this. The sheep know a down economy beats getting blowed up everytime.

As long as the terror threat is there, the economy sits in the back seat, with all the other socialist clap trap.

Only if the terror threat is demonstrably decreased will the economy be a factor.

The war on terror is not over even thougn Iraq has been squished. Not at all like 1991.
