That's not the point..plus, I've never heard of "face cancer!". Anyway, accute acne is a very serious thing and ridding oneself of it can be life-altering. I don't know from experience, but I have had friends who have taken this drug and it has changed their lives.

How does accutane work exactly? I'd have to know before I'd put it in or on my body. It sounds to me like it causes breaks in the DNA ---if it can cause DNA breaks to lead to defects in a baby ---why wouldn't it damage your own DNA also? If it's smeared on your face ---what is it doing to your face skin cells? If you ingest it ---what is it doing all throughout your body? I know thaladimide is a great cancer fighting drug now ---but I sure wouldn't like to take it if I didn't already have cancer.

"I've never heard of "face cancer!"

One can get cancer in any part of the body, I beleive. Cancer just means abnormally reproducing cells; this is part of why it isn't cured, it's not really a disease, it's more of an umbrella term for similar ailments, I think, I could be wrong about this.

I remember distinctly, years ago, reading an article in the Sunday NY Times magazine written by a woman who had had cancer in of the nose. She recovered, more or less, as I recall. I always remember one piece of advice she gave her readers (I paraphrase from old memory): if you have a serious, dire, disease make sure you get a good looking doctor. For one thing it's encouraging; for another, you're going to be seeing a lot of him.
