What could have been an appropriate reaction to rumors of plane hijackings being orchestrated by terrorists? Close down all airports? Round up all Arabs? Detain any and every Muslim with a suspicious background? Would that have stopped 9-11? This Admin. has gotten nothing but criticism for doing very judiciously just SOME of these things AFTER 9-11, when almost ANY protective measure could be justified, or at least rationalized. I hate to think what kind of firestorm would've occurred if they'd done it BEFORE 9-11.This is the classic NO WIN situation.

EXACTLY! That would have been spun by the left as the same kind of "fearmongering" that is happening now, courtesy of President Bush.
