When I was in China students from Yale and Harvard were asking me all kinds of things regarding China.... :0) seriously. Most of them needed some real world experience.

Chinese studies if I am not mistaken has much more to do with arts, and literature, but rarely goes into economics, especially current economics....

Clarissa did a lot on history, current developments, and the government's goals on economics. Don't want to bill her as an economist, but much more than superficial interest.

One Anecdote. Her father and I visited her in New Haven on our way to work in New Hampshire. I slept in her office. I wanted to read a book or magazine to fall asleep and they were all in Chinese, LOL!
