President George W. Bush signed the legislationSometime between the Truman and Dubya administrations, the plaque that said "The Buck Stops Here" must have been removed from The Oval Office.

Bush signing the law made SURE it would go to the courts for FINAL RITES. If Bush had vetoed it, like you wanted him to, he could have made the case it was unconstituional, but the Dems would have had a huge issue. Now, it is DOA and the Dems have no campaign issue to bludgeon Bush with. See how that works? Beautiful.

I'm looking forward to reading the details. The Bill will eventually be gutted by the courts. The sooner the better.

also struck down the ban
The court also ruled unconstitutional new restrictions on election-time political ads by special interest groups and others. It barred the federal government from enforcing them and all other parts of the law it struck down

GW wins. The hard money limit increased to $2000. That benefits the GOP.
To: The Wizard
Yup, a victory for Bush. The democrats would have hammered him with CFR had he vetoed the bill.
Now, he took an issue away from them and still got what he wanted.
He's brilliant.

Or they are upset because the result was not achieved in precisely the manner in which they wanted the result achieved.
Some folks just aren't ever satisified.
