An electrician in my town is a millionaire. He is also a member of the school board, has tickets to the Metropolitan Opera, travels extensively with his family, and his daughter's wedding pictures were featured in TOWN AND COUNTRY magazine.
If you're smart, you're smart, and if you know what you want to do with your life, you're going to get ahead, whether you have a college education or not. Anyone can pick up a book and read and become knowledgeable without the benefit of a college education.

Anyone can pick up a book and read and become knowledgeable without the benefit of a college education. Up to a point. More arcane subjects require a good instructor to grasp them. It is as hard to understand Hegel on your own as mastering martial art from the book or learn to play musical instrument by yourself. Few people can do it.
