I'm going to go ahead and reveal some things about me not in my profile.

I am currently engaged to a beautiful Russian woman from the city of Kazan. We exchanged IM for about 4 months DAILY from October until I met her for Valentine's Day in Moscow. I spent 12 days in Russia and they were the BEST in my life. It's not the scenery; it's the company you keep.

Without a doubt, Russian women are TEN times the women that most american women are. They are intelligent, feminine, cultured, well-mannered and have NONE of the poltical or feminazi hangups of the american women that I have met or talked to. There is no 'princess complex' there is no sense of entitlement, and every one of them knows about how hard work pays off.

Men and women here will go on about how to find a conservative, moral american woman here, but I can tell you that they are so rare that they might as well not exist anymore. So, american men are deciding to take matters in their own hands and seek elsewhere.

I have never been happier with a woman than I am now. All I'm waiting for is her fiance visa and it's back to Russia to bring her home.

And for anyone thinking that she is hungry for a green card, know this; she had a visa into England and gave it up.

Hmmm, The only thing I can offer here is that men. Most real men if they care to admit it is that they want a submissive wife or mate. This means to say that they want a wife that will defer to them as the leader of the family.

A woman that is submissive to me attracts me. Women who who are contentious simply turn me off.

Considering what we have read concerning Russian Olympic athlete women, what is so hard about understanding how homosexual men who are forbidden from marrying their own kind, opt for the next best choice?

I'd like to make a few comments from an Orthodox perspective (btw, i'm a convert to Orthodoxy but am an American). I've been around Russians for about 25 years; mostly in church settings.

1. Pravda, being a commie publication, knows nothing about Orthodoxy or even Christianity. I'm sure the publication still has some old time party members hanging around to harangue the masses with marxist/leninist claptrap. The author, Olga Makhovskaya, probably considers herself Orthodox, but in fact knows very little about the church, beyond getting her kids baptized.

2. Yes, times have changed in Russia, but communism completely destroyed the church. Many recent Russians emigrees that have come to U.S. don't know the differnce between a saint, an apostle or even an Old Testament prophet. What the author calls the Russian Orthodox Church is in fact an organization that was created by Stalin and whose bishops were all hand picked by the KGB. The heierarchs (bishops, metropolitans and the patriarch) are all pretty much corrupt men. For those interested, there is a branch or the Russian Orthodox Church which declared autonomy when the commies took over. This church (Russian Orthodox Church Abroad) has kept the traditions of Orthodoxy and its bishops are humble pious men.

3. Most Russian women who come over to the US will not go to an Orthodox church, as they view the Moscow Patriarchate as just another extension of the government (as it was under godless communism).

4. I caution those of you inclined to get a Russian bride to consider the cultural differences. Russians don't think like we Americans and in order to have peace you will have to make accomodations.

5. Marriage in the Orthodox church comes down to two basic admonitions from St. Paul: a. Women, obey your husbands. b. Men, honor and love your wives.

6. If the woman you are interested in is somewhat religious and wants to go to a Russian Orthodox (real one, not the commie fake) you should probably get to know something about the faith before getting married.

We know a really nice guy who married a Jewish woman from Russia - yeah mail order style. When she got over her, and got her citizenship, she quickly got pregnant and had the child. The guy loves his little girl. It's been nearly two years of marriage and a baby girl and now she is filing for divorce because of unreoncicable differences. He had no clue. She simply moved out and he got the paperwork. She will NOT speak to him and directs questions to his attorney.

Yeah, those foreign marriages are working out beautifully.
