I've been to The Smokies, and also to Mt. Mitchell, and saw the devastation caused by acid rain upon the trees at the summit.
There is a restaurant there with a grand view, and I had mountain trout to eat - - - love those mountains, many times on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the years I lived in North Carolina.....
It is a beautiful area. I'm gonna have to be headin that way soon. :)
