Laci Peterson's memorial service set for Sunday

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) -The memorial service for slain pregnant woman Laci Peterson and her unborn son is scheduled for Sunday -- the day that would have been her 28th birthday.

The service is set for 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Laurie LaCore, a church spokeswoman said Tuesday. The church seats more than 1,500 and seating for about 800 others will be available in two other buildings where the service will be broadcast on closed circuit televisions.

Even if Scott is guilty, he can attain salvation before his eventual death (I'm 100% certain that he will eventually die).

I echo the prayers for all. Hope this is not off-topic, but I am watching Greta right now and they have this 'psychic' on who 'saw' Laci being beaten 'weeks before she was missing'. Whenever I see and hear some whiskey and cigarette-voiced 'psychic' crowing about how they 'knew' someone was dead, and was obviously used as a last resort for a grieving family, I'm sickened. Sorry, but Scott gets the Darwin award for clues and this person is a complete opportunist. Anyway, my heart grieves for the family.

I saw the story on ABC News today but I didn't want to post it cause I didn't know how everyone felt about psychics. I am very skeptical about them. Personally I think this lady was taking too much credit!

Yes, and it is already starting. Now the only thing left for people to realize is that if all of this wonderful, generous, and heartfelt outpouring of kindness could be radiated towards each other on a regular basis this town would be a much happier place.
The fact that the love we all seem to feel for Laci could generate something even close to that warms my heart.

You may not understand it, but they do. To many of us, it was a great loss that should never have been.

yeah I'll understand when I see threads on some jane doe that was rapped and murdered down in the ghetto for no reason.. until then it's absolutely idiotic to get so worked up over this single event, in effect insulting every other woman to die from violence.

No one here, at least I wouldn't think so, is trying to forget those who don't make the news - I hope I can say, all feel for all of them. But can you really say you don't feel horrible for the loss of these families? Not everyone can make the news, for reasons we can't control, but the pain for all grieving families of loss is universal and it also brings to the forefront the pain ALL families feel which sounds lame, but it really DOES help if it gets some air time. I hope you weren't a victim of this, since your thread is a tad bitter - not judging you, just an observation. People DO care, and I hope I'm not sounding fake, because let's just say, I know of what I speak. God bless you and all the other families.
