Rather, they'd spend Memorial Day on vacation, and only those children whose parents are veterans or are in the Service or are those few civilians who remember, would have the proper activities on Memorial Day.

As a teahcer, your comments are very offensive to me. I hope you don't really feel that way. I hope the public doesn't share your view. Some teachers are conservatives, Christians, and family oriented. Some teachers try very hard to be the kind of person that they would want teaching their own children. Thanks for making my job so much easier.
