OK, I have no problem with bigots as senators. I just object when they spew bigotry.

I don't agree that Santorum is a homophobic bigot...but I do think he made a big mistake by making it sound like it might be OK with him if homosexuals and adulters were arrested and thrown in jail.

A person cannot be 'bigoted' against evil behaviors. A person can be bigoted against, say, Hispanics, or anyone with an Hispanic name, Jorge. But to ascribe 'bigotry' to someone who thinks rape is wrong is to dilute the whole concept of what a minority group is. A person is not a member of a legitimate minority because they choose to do evil since most people do not do evil.
