If you can show that both Boortz and myself are in any way connected with Scientology, please do so.
But for your information, pal, I knew ADD was a sham from back when Michael Fay vandalized those cars in Singapore. The very first thing to come from the mouths of his parents?
Michael has ADD.
I can assure you, there is no ADD, ADHD or ODD that a good old fashioned spanking cannot fix.
Bet on it.

I didn't say you are connected with Scientology, but you have certainly been influenced by "research" which is funded and pushed into the media by Scientology. Just like A.N.S.W.E.R., Scientology employs hordes of "useful idiots" to achieve its objectives.
The fact there's a huge supply of examples of phony ADD diagnoses, hardly proves that there are no real cases. I heartily agree that discipline, diet, elimation of video games, etc. need to be employed first, before any proper diagnosis of ADD/ADHD can be made. And I heartily agree than in a majority of diagnoses, this has not been done. But there are also plenty of examples where it has been done exhaustively, and the problem remained serious, and was significantly improved by medication. More importantly, there is some evidence to suggest that medication during childhood may increase the chance that the child outgrows the problem (most children who use Ritalin during their school years do not continue to need it as adults). Waiting until past the childhood/adolescent period of high neurological malleability could result in the problem becoming permanent, when that could have been avoided.

You lose buddy.
All of the things you state as "cures" for ADD demonstrate what causes most of the few legitimate cases of ADD. The fact is, mental disorders are not generally biological in nature, although there are exceptions. A child who has been poorly raised is likely to develop an emotional and/or mental disorder which requires treatment. Drugs are not the solution in the majority of cases, but there are some people who need them just to function because of how messed up they are.
Is it better to ignore a medication which can be used to temporarily reduce symptoms while the long process of healing takes place? Ritalin is way overprescribed, but there are times it is necessary to do something.
Seems you want to punish the kids for the sins of the parents because some people use this problem as an excuse. Well, by your logic, there is no God. How many people have used God as an "excuse" for their actions throughout history?

I can assure you, there is no ADD, ADHD or ODD that a good old fashioned spanking cannot fix. Were this the case, my son would have absolutely no difficulties concentrating. Sadly, it's not.
