"Arameic" = Aramaic.... (D-OH!! D-OH!!))

Sorry, but Aramaic is much closer to Hebrew than Arabic. In fact, portions of the Haftorah books of Ezra and Daniel were written in Aramaic, as well as almost all of the Talmud and the Jewish Mourner's Kaddish (entirely in Aramaic).

I find it somewhat amusing that the only people who may be reasonably conversant with Aramaic are rabbis and Talmudic scholars, but even most non-observant Jews are familiar with the Mourner's Kaddish.

OTOH, no matter how the film is received, I can state unequivocally, that, with only one or two exceptions, I have always been treated with kindness by Christian Americans (I suspect it may be a mutual respect kind of thing). I firmly believe that will not change with the release of Mr. Gibson's film.

Who has at least one Aramaic book at home.

I think this movie might draw a different crowd.

I agree with you. However, I'll still wait until I can but it on DVD. I believe this film will be worth having.

No, I didn't say that at all. I just said that the evidence seems to support the labelling of Mel Gibson and his father as wacko in the religious department. It's a free country, and wackos can build all the churches and compounds they want, and gather in them to their hearts' content. And those of us who think they're wacko are free to say so.

"That religious group" is reportedly the Tridentine Mass group which split off from the Catholic Church. However, that group normally advertises their services in newspapers and encourages the public to join them. The Gibson project, which combines a totally wacko Holocaust denier with a sizeable church building that is not to be open to the public, sounds far weirder than the regular Tridentine Mass churches.

You are so right, scholars are screwing up our universities, why let them screw up a film.

Whatever. You know nothing about them, except for one man. The reality is that the only person being prejudicial and casting aspersions around is you, not Mel Gibson.

Nope!

And ... they must have some information about the impact of this film, or they would not be getting so upset. What bothers me is these are the same people who never get upset over films or plays which purport to show Jesus as a homosexual, but they will protest a historically accurate depiction which might upset their "theology".
