It was Kerri Weaver who was turned into a lesbian (despite the fact that she had a male lover in Africa and another heterosexual affair). It shouldn't be surprising though, given that she was always rigid in her attitude about playing by the rules....except when it came to bending them in favor of the episode's politically correct cause. Mark Green was killed off of the show. I think that he died of cancer.

They wouldn't have a problem with "Allah reigns" or "Shiva reigns." Maybe not even with "George W. Bush reigns." But if it's Jesus.... watch out! can't admit that even for some people he is the king

The original "Death Wish" movie, Charles Bronson got sick after his first 'encounter.' He got over it.

I stopped watching ER when sex became the major topic, was that first or second season? Now it's FNC, documentries and old syndications.

I hate to tell you, but er is just about as real as it can be on tv. If any of you have ever been to places like Cook County General, such as Grady Hospital, MUSC, or any large hospital where most of the people coming through are the lower to low middle classes, you will find the exact same traumas, illnesses etc. The only problem is you won't really know it because you are going to be on the outside looking in and not part of the lives of the doctors and nurses and techicians etc., etc.,

Just remember one thing, this show is written by a doctor and is also noted for hiring personnel who are also nurses, doctors, technician, rn's, lpn's, etc...

ER was my favorite show for years, but now I see message after message in the episodes that I disagree profoundly with. Then there is my lost love affair with George Clooney....! :-)

I'm still waiting for "Touched by an Angel" to use the name of Jesus. I guess the wait is over, since tonight is the last episode. I guess I'll have to settle for Zack, not to be confused with Mu-ham-mad.

Acts 4
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

What can Christians do about this animosity?

Boycott ER?

{E.R. is pure dreck.....they are promoting more of the liberal dogma}

Primetime television shall be the method which the RATS will use to get around campaign finance laws.

I can take that one. The limitation on campaign advertising the 60 days preceeding an election. They don't need paid advertising when they have plenty of it for free already. Basically all shows on NBC and ABC and 50% (at least) of the ones on CBS.

Last year Sen. John McCain's campaign finance reform bill was signed into law. I believe the law forbids political advertising 60 days before a general election. This means the tv networks could have their shows promote pro-Democratic themes. While, the GOP would be unable to run any political ads on primetime television during the crucial months of September and October.

Well, I agree to a point. ER is medically pretty darn close to reality. However, the characters do tend to play pretty loose with the rules (of ethics, HR law, etc.). Also, as many others on the thread note, the scripts are somewhat liberal preachy.

lol, I thought that's what was implied, that all network programming is essentially Democratic agitprop...I just thought there might be some more...um, "realistic" answer to my question. I'm just wondering how American Idol, Survivor, CSI, etc. play into Democratic realpolitik.

This means the tv networks could have their shows promote pro-Democratic themes.

Again, take a look at the top ten, top twenty shows and tell me with a deadpan look that "pro-Democratic themes" will be run through those shows previous to election time and will actually influence a voter to think, "You know, that storyline about the economy really motivates me to vote Democratic this election." Because the economy is all the Democrats have to run a serious campaign with right now.
