PRISTINA, Serbia-Montenegro - A U.S. peacekeeper serving in Kosovo was found dead early Sunday, a statement from the main U.S. Camp Bondsteel said.
The soldier's body was discovered near the town of Dobercane, about 35 miles east of the provincial capital Pristina. The statement did not give the cause of death.
The name of the soldier was not released, pending notification of the next of kin.
"Military police are conducting an investigation of the incident," the statement said.
About 3,000 U.S. troops are serving with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo, which came under NATO and U.N. control after the alliance launched an air war in 1999 to stop a Serbian military crackdown on ethnic Albanians.

What the F*** are we still doing there?
Continental Europe wanted nothing to do with liberating Iraq. We can give them the balkans to handle and au revoir.

My exact thought too.

Supercooldoode has interesting signature: "za poglavnika i za dom!!"
Translated into English, it reads:
For Fuehrer and Homeland !!
Poglavnik (Fuehrer) was Ante Pavelic, the leader of Nazi Croatia in WWII
Nazi Croatia declared war to United States 3 days after Nazi Germany December 14 1941.

U.S. peacekeeper from Nashville found dead in Kosovo:
A U.S. peacekeeper serving in Kosovo was found dead early yesterday, according to a statement from the main U.S. Camp Bondsteel.
Capt. Sandford Scott Sullivan, 35, of Nashville apparently shot himself, said Capt. Mike Bush, a spokesman for the U.S.-controlled sector of Kosovo.
Sullivan's body was discovered near the town of Dobercane, about 35 miles east of the provincial capital Pristina. An investigation was under way.
Sullivan, a liaison officer, is survived by his wife and three children, Bush said. A memorial ceremony was scheduled for Wednesday at Camp Monteith, another U.S. camp in eastern Kosovo.
About 3,000 U.S. troops are serving with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo, which came under NATO and United Nations control after the alliance launched an air war in 1999 to stop a Serbian military crackdown on ethnic Albanians.

My Daddy fought the Nazi Storm Troopers from N. Africa
all the way to Germany during WWII. I will never forget
and I won't let anyone else forget either. That's what
the neo-Nazis are hoping for. Forgetfulness. How I hate
that GOOSE STEPPING!!

Although unpopular to talk about, suicide does happen during the tour of duty. If I am not wrong, the most at risk are young grunts, not officers with family.
The place he was found dead is not a town, but a village. One false information is enough to open enquiry.
If I were investigator, I would check statistical odds first (Based on Army wide statistical data, how likely is that 35 year old Captain with kids at home commit suicide by shooting himself)

Dobro Jutro from Serbia! Beautiful weather for a beautiful country- 80F all week!
I am leaving this morning for Southern Serbia (Leskovac, Bujanovac region). Depends upon one thing I will find out this morning.
The climate has changed dramatically since my last 1995 excursion. Slavija Square is one crazy circle, I am suprised there havent been any accidents during my brief waiting time there for my friend.
Has supercool been banned too? his name during a search says no such name. What did the supernazi do now?
