Was the anchor approximately where they think the body was? No, the anchor was at the end of the Berkeley Pier. The submerged bodies were over in the Richmond area (4 miles NW), nearer to where they eventually washed up.

How about this being a possibility as to why Laci's body was dismembered?Possible, however I think this info I just found might just answer why also.
Having sunk to the bottom the body will remain there until putrefactive gas formation decreases the specific gravity of the body and creates sufficient buoyancy to allow it to rise to the surface and float. Heavy clothing and weights attached to the body may delay but will not usually prevent the body rising
We already know this but it is important to know that the body will SINK for at least 6 hrs. before starting to float weights or not.
In the water the body floats face down with the head lower than the rest of the body so that lividity is most prominent on the head, neck and anterior chest.
Putrefaction begins first within the areas of lividity i.e. the head, neck and anterior chest.
So this could tell us that the head is most likely missing because of the normal way that bodies float in water and that with motion, and the weight of the head drooping down would (after decomp) cause a natural seperation.
Here's something interesting though. In this case even though because the areas of ones body containing the MOST lividity (blood pooling) should decompose faster than the others, that is NOT what happened.
Since the torso was somewhat complete but the legs were missing it seems to me that this would be consistant with the body as having been put in the water with the weight tied/attached only to the feet. Blood pooled towards feet leading to more decomp there causing seperation from rest of body before the chest area decomposed.

Jeffery Dahmer killed animals before he moved on to humans...Snott kicking cats does not surprize me, considering the fact that those animals belonged to Laci.
He sure didn't respect his life with her, did he??

RGSpincich, Thanks for the ping to map at posting #72.
I am still confused as to how Scott dumped her.
I was listening to Marcia Clark (OJ prosecutor) tonight doing a clue thing on Scott.
She said Scotts story about going fishing doesn't jive, because one clue we know is there is no sign that his boat had ever been in the water
If that is true how did he get her out there?

I agree that he didn't go fishing but he was out in the water doing something. She got there some how. I don't know where that statement came from about the boat not being in the (salt) water. Heard it early but it may have come at the same time the false bankruptcy story hit. It's unsubstantiated at this point and all other verified evidence points to the water.

Good reasoning. Totally SICKening, Alex, but good reasoning.Huh? What'd I say? Hardest part for me was reading description of HOW you drown, (the systematic medical process) shiver, I CANNOT think of a worse death.

"So we will probably have to agree to disagree on this one point, Ray." We sure will RG B/C That 2nd warrant is my best educated guess to get the Death Penalty, and if that evidence is connective from that 2nd,possibly the whole "laci"(not connor) thing, thrown out of the first Federal Court the Appeal hits. But just to show you how my heart feels, I'm going to pull for your side.....;-0)......(Ray says I guess I told him off huuh) :)

Good try Ray, float that argument. Nothing to be gained by publicly stating they found Laci. Too dangerous to retrieve her, it was likely she had moved since she had been first dropped, so the odds of Scott knowing where she was at that time were not high, and he was being tailed. Keeping quiet was the prudent thing to do. Anyone can try to nexis crimes, Jackie sure as hell is trying to do that. But a small town pregnant woman, who was home on 12/23 somehow has ended up in the Bay. Her husband has lied and blocked this investigation at every turn. Any killer for the Bay region would have had to have driven some 80-90 miles out of his way, picked Laci out, taken her, brought her back some 80-90 miles and so on. Is anything possible? Sure, probable? I don't think so. These other women that turned up in the Bay are from the metro area. As for Amber, just because I don't go after her like some around here, doesn't mean I think she's a saint. I just don't see any reason at this stage, to paint her as the evil doer that some believe her to be. I could be wrong, but I can wait. Talk about being damned if you do and damned if you don't...I think it's a wise thing, for Laci and this case, that she is not talking to the press. I think that will mean more for her when the case comes to trial.jmo.

I also remember how the weather was that day, it was my birthday on Friday the 14th of march, one day after this.Happy belated birthday!! I didn't realize you lived in Modesto - I checked your profile and didn't get any clues.... I'm in San Jose. I just remember driving that day and hearing on the news that the search was being called off - my windshield wipers slamming back and forth rapidly in the downpour. I'm a recreational scuba diver and have been in some rough water more than a few times (swells up to 10 feet and swift currents) and recall thinking of the danger and futility of trying to continue Laci's search in those conditions that day.
Cheers, CC :)
To: Rusty Roberts
One correction Ray, I was speaking about the Bay crime statistics and you were speaking about Modesto. So I stand corrected. That said, I do think they are following the FBI carefully and staying closed mouthed for a good reason.
