Howlin & hno:
Thanks ever so for this thread. I missed the entire thing this year :-(, but I'm having a ball reading through this thread! The captured pictures are great!
Jane: Yes, isn't Millbank repulsive. But, I had no idea that he was "Daschle-sized" until I saw this picture!

For my money - this was planned. Suddenly someone fires into a weapons dump and there they are eager and ready to blame the USA. Tooooooo planned for my taste.

I agree with your assessment 100%. I watched the replay this morning. I was in El Segundo at the Activism 101 meeting yesterday, so I didn't get to watch.
I saw the same expression on their faces. I don't think it was so much David's expression of wife, kids, Jesus; to me it was what David said just prior to that - about how he was at the peak of his career and it was meaningless - because the real meaning in life was his RELATIONSHIPS with his wife, his children, and Jesus. Stunning statement. I think it caused a lot of them to do some heart searching.
Aso ... I thought the sort of silent atmosphere was because they all felt guilty at attacking Bush, when he had been right about everything; even, it looks like, the WMD which were just found, and the Iraq connection to Usama.
I also think they are in total awe of Bush. They have called him everything under the sun - and he's unflapable. Here he was giving honor to 2 members of the media - an audience of whom rarely had a kind for him. Bush is definitely one of a kind; genuine, with more class than all the others in that room.

Well ... the slam was against Bush - so he should be allowed to answer. As usual, they tried to bait him and he didn't bite. He just said the truth - they have a right to say what they want - but the public has the right not to buy their CD's.

Coming in late on this one, but can anyone point me to a transcript of the President's speech?
