Good thing your nephew didn't pay attention to Clinton's days. I did, and it was terrible.

Good night you two, hope you fix your pop up problem, Grams....

I have been looking for someone who actually taped this. I was not able to tape the beginning with the arrivals, which is what I wanted on tape for personal reasons. Does your tape include the arrival segment? I am afraid that C-Span will never play this part again and I am desperate for a copy if you or anyone else has it!

Re your post 1064. I thought his selection of music was strange for the evening. Maybe just me. Just thought it could have been more patroitic or something.
I brought this up earlier tonight that Ray Charles is a hugh Democrat. Still, his performance was not just good, it was exceptional.
Someone else brought up the fact that he was playing in a forum of Democrats. Who knows?
The entire program was good, that is all that matters.

Good thing your nephew didn't pay attention to Clinton's days. I did, and it was terrible. Reminds me of my youngest bro, too young to remeber Reagan. Now that was a wonderful time to grow up.
Instead of "I did not have sex with that woman" you had "Mr. Gorbachev tare down this wall"

Looking back on it all, I'm so upset that I missed out on Reagan's terms. I was in kindergarten when he was leaving office. But I'm more than greatful to be active in politics while Bush is in office.

And then Nixon ran again like in the late seventies and won? I didn't cry when Kennedy beat Nixon. I started paying attention during the Cuban missile crisis. Some of my school friends had actual bomb shelters in their basements stocked with stuff.
I was always more afraid of tornadoes though and drug all my Barbie dolls to the basement if their was a warning. There was lots of tornadic activity in DASCHLE COUNTRY. lol You know, the way he runs hot and cold - that causes tornadic activity in SD.

Looking back on it all, I'm so upset that I missed out on Reagan's terms. Dang you are a youngin' and I am soon to be 28.
The thought of Reagan swells my heart with pride, this man in the Oval Office is his first true heir. Both have made me proud me truly proud to be an American!

I think we counted 19 at the freep -- we'll include the names of FReepers in the after-action report.
Mary Matalin got into a SUV and James Carville was not driving. We didn't see him, but he could have been there. By the way, Mary looked great, though a bit too thin.

Looking forward to the after action report. Congrats on the good turnout. You DC FReepers do a good job out there representing the rest of us.
I agree, Mary is too thin.
I'm checking out. Have a great night.

***Can someone tell me why Ray Charles, a big Democrat, would play for this event?***
I wondered about that too, but when you think about it, where were they going to get a performer who is seeing impaired, a member of a minority, and a WOMAN? So the liberals settled for two out of three.

...What impressed me most about this particular White House Correspondents Dinner was that...
...BILL CLINTON blended right in with all the "Good Ol" News Guys in years past...
...while GEORGE BUSH was a real cut above them all this year...
...and looked it.
T'was soooo dang obvious.
