To: <1/1,000,000th%; Scenic Sounds
I actually got called for the first time this past month. I had to get a waiver for a year; I have a diabetic animal who can't survive without me, so I honestly could not do it because my schedule has to remain flexible to his needs. All it took for me was a message left on the Court's answering machine, explaining the situation. Of course, I didn't use the "f" word. : )

Exactly. I have to admit I love jury duty. I've been on several juries for both criminal and civil cases. I ought to take my wife's turn when she's called.

It's interesting that a legal system works so well with ordinary folks just showing up and deciding who's right and wrong.
