[history]
A Shreveport Police Department dispatch tape indicates at least one officer knew that a Shreveport man killed by police had a cell phone and that officers feared the man was a drunken driver and might kill somebody.
The details about the cell phone, other information about the shooting and Police Chief Jim Roberts' previous comments that he would do the same thing as the officers prompted three Shreveport City Council members to call for Mayor Keith Hightower to fire Roberts.

And, per chance were the shooting officers White, while the perp was Black?
The reason I ask - I just can't say that I hear much about cases being investigated by the FBI and calls by one specific race of city council members for the firing of a police chief when the shooters are Black and the perp is White. Or how about when the shooter is Hispanic and the perp is White?
Nope, we always hear the big stories when it's white officers shooting black (and sometimes other minorities).
So - what is the racial make-up of all the characters in this story?????

Yes, you are correct. The officers are whites, and the man shot to death after the high-speed chase is black. The mayor is a white Democrat elected with black support. The police chief, to my knowledge, is white. The three council members calling for the head of the chief are black Democrats.
