LOL....a prominent person posted an article here the other day....and probably used a spell checker....but...didn't proof read well. The article came with "pubic" where it should have been "public." Your suggestion is one ALL should follow.....spell checkers are for a first pass check only, in my rule book!

Another good proofreading trick I learned when I was twelve and spent my after-school hours at my mom's office at a small regional newspaper...read your writing backwards so that you're forced to examine each word out of context. Words that are spelled correctly but don't really belong (like the one in your example) will jump right out at you!
