Given the oft-quoted 4 million people in Toronto, this would amount to 371 bed strangling deaths per year. Has anyone ever heard of a real person who has been involved in an accidental bed-strangling death? I've heard of some wacko rockers who strangled themselves as part of "auto-erotic asphyxiation", but not usually in bed.

My niece's mailman was thought to have died in this manner.
We can't be sure, though, because when the EMR team
tried to disentangle him from the sheets, his body spontaneously
combusted, setting fire to the bales of marijuana in his attic.
People for miles around got the munchies so bad they
decamped to the Dairy Queen and my niece's mailman's
house burned to the ground unattended. It was some killer
weed.
