Therein lies the difference in this discussion. I happen to agree with you re: Blair's conduct and character DURING the war....and the type of politician he is at all other times. I have no illusions about Mr. Blair.

But I was called a socialist Clinton lover for voicing my admiration of Blair's friendship and courage (politcally) towards America during this war.

Dollar will get you a donut...that you won't be.

IMHO, anybody who joins the Public Debate and contacts their elected officials--including the POTUS--to put forward their arguments has to believe they have influence at the White House or else we wouldn't waste our time getting involved. I have no desire to go back and track down how this whole rigamarole got started, but at first glance, it seems like at least three FReepers I've come to respect over the years are resorting to calling each other names that don't accurately describe the characters of the FReepers I've come to know.

Then again, HOO the HECK gives a damn what I think?! LOL!!

Yeah, I saw that - but that's something we all do, and it's a little different than suggesting things are happening purely because of your own personal involvement in an issue.

I have seen some things you've written that have led me to believe that you really think you're some kind of insider - the kind of guy who gets noticed, and whose activism is especially influential in Washington.

Would that be accurate, in your mind?

Have you ever heard of 'the power of who-say'? It is a sales technique used by sales people and promoters to sell their product.

The way it works is......If you tell a potential buyer that Jim and Jane and Joe have used Product X and give it RAVE reviews, it increases the buyer's desire to own the product. The product's desirability to the buyer increases based on supposed testimonial praise.

This technique has been used for years...and probably the most outrageous example of the technique's success was a company who made a killing selling perfume thru an infomercial on T.V. No product to smell....just testimony from various supposed users of the product. These people created a desire by the viewer to buy an unknown 'odor'.

This was a long story to let you know.....that posting other posters' opinions to give YOURSELF credence, falls into the category of 'the power of who-say'.

It's flim-flam.....pure and simple.
