But then you dont have a problem with our open borders and lack of law enforcement." That's alie...but understandable coming from you.

No that is my justified opinion of your unwillingness to support greater law enforcement on the border.

..the legal market is eliminated, when you remove a portion of the market, then procuring goods becomes more difficult...

How much difficulty have the Colombian drug gangs had in sourcing whatever gun they wanted? I know our biker drug gangs here have no problems at all accessing illegal guns and explosives, and we have far more restrictive gun laws than Florida. PS this is my last post to the thread. Anything further may test our cyber friendship. Cheers, By

Q:  What is an "assault weapon" under the federal law?

A:  The production (after September 14, 1994) for sale or distribution to the general public of nineteen specific firearms (and copies of them by other manufacturers) listed in the bill as "assault weapons" is prohibited.  These are:

Spoken like an ill-informed leftist gun-grabber.

You might want to actually read the bill.

In addition, I was in North Hollywood when the big shootout happened in the '90's and it wasn't that the cops were outgunned. It was that they weren't prepared for a well armed and well aimed opponent.

If you think that getting cosmetically altered guns off the streets are going to make you safe you are mistaken. As long as there are 10 round magazines there's a chance a cop might lose his life. Better to eliminate all hi-cap clips altogether. Meanwhile, we hand out AK-47'a in Iraq.

There's the logic.

Spoken like an ill-tempered brat, I am simply exercising my God-given right to form and express an opinion.

Details of the banned weapons posted above for your study.

I know all about the ugly gun bill. It does nothing to stop the production or sale of rifles based on function. It's all about the looks.

You might not like the way I've described your position but you can't deny its accuracy. You're firmly in the camp of Feinstein and Schumer.

All because a low-level functionary made a seemingly off the cuff remark on a Saturday.

Auto-loading AK-47 and all semi-automatic models of the Norinco, Mitchell, and Poly Technologies Avtomat Kalashnikovs.

Are they using "auto-loading" to mean fullauto? or just another way of saying semi-auto? If they are intending fullauto then that proves what a piece of propaganda this ban is. Machine guns are already regulated. You cant produce more full-auto AK47's for civilian ownership before 94 anyway. The only reason they would be mentioned here is to help imply this ban deals with machineguns when it doesnt.

Can you post a link?

Yah this ban is also called an "assault weapons" ban and it has nothing to do with assault weapons. AK47 means fullauto.

You are not proving that the ban deals with actual fullauto weapons, you are proving that it is dishonest.

"You're firmly in the camp of Feinstein and Schumer."

And I am sure that many, many conservatives stood squarely in Bill Clinton's camp as he signed the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, and many cheered as he sent his goons into the Miami home of Lazaro Gonzalez to unconstitionally kidnapp a little boy.

Politics and free thought makes for strange bedfellows.

More lies and distortion from you.

While I agree with your post you cant call someone a liar because I feel your solution is a failure. Something needs to be done NOW in regards to our open borders and with our war on terrorism and the increasing drug crime we need to cut through the red tape and get the military out there or something to that effect until we get some control back.

I called you aliar because you lied about my position on the subject when you spoke of my "unwillingness to support greater law enforcement on the border"...a blatant lie.

Luis, you could not be more wrong on this issue. You either believe in the second amendment or you don't. Consider this: You want to buy a book about your favorite topic, but the government has passed a law that says "your favorite book" is no longer available for purchase. The book is too scary & may possibly be used by criminals....even though this has only happened about one half of 1%...you either believe in freedom or you don't....simple as that.

Not for me. No one agrees on every single issue with another human being...it's impossible.

"Luis, you could not be more wrong on this issue."

Well, you have your opinion, and I have mine. I'm not truly interested in other people's opinions of my opinion.

THAT is freedom.
