NASA's O'Keefe to Move to Pentagon?

A new Sean O'Keefe departure rumor is making its way around the Washington whisper circuit, Astronotes has learned. This one has the NASA administrator leaving his post this summer to fill a vacancy at the Pentagon when Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld moves out and his deputy Paul Wolfowitz moves up.

Front runner to replace O'Keefe at NASA? Edward "Pete" Aldridge, who just so happens to be stepping down in May from his job as the Pentagon's chief aquisition official. Aldridge is no stranger to space, having led the National Reconnaissance Office and served as the president of the Aerospace Corporation before returning to the Pentagon for another tour of duty in 2001.
