I read it when it first came out after browsing some other books of Kirk's. Its first few chapters are the most solid concise statements on conservatism that I have ever read. Based on their interest, I have read a lot of Kirk in the decade since.

The Conservative Mind last summer on vacation, and was captivated.
Now I will have to finish the book on Einstein I'm reading and start reading Prudence.
