I'm from NYC (now living in the suburbs) and I'm a Republican and have always voted Republican.

In fact, I can remember the day JFK won the Presidential election and my Irish Catholic mother cried her heart out in misery over it.

We've got an awful lot to do to woo people to the party here, but we've got to keep upbeat and optimistic.

That is amazing, considering the high number of Irish Catholics that support the Kennedys in the NE States. Good for her!
