This all boils down to whether or not the State has a right to regulate sexual conduct. Basically it does, in my opinion.

Surely there is no other individual thing that occupies more of mans time than sex. The spectrum of "sexual conduct" is vast and includes everything from a mildly erotic thought to Nazism, from Missionary position in a Christian marriage to the most horrendous of child beastial rape canibilism. "Sexual conduct" and laws and the powers of government can never be summed up and placed on a bumper sticker.

Either the state has the right or it does not have the right, to regulate sexual conduct. The moral beliefs of the people are always reflected in its laws. Whether they be sexual or other moral laws.

I am a Christian and I can say that for example if the state wanted to make it a capital offense to commit adultery for example, I would not oppose it becuase it coincides with Biblical laws. For me morality is not up to individuals to interpret or choose. For me I stand by God's laws. They are the only ones that seem to work in the long run.

And the laws of the land are to obeyed too so long as they do not confilct with God's.

Otherwise people would push the envelope until it explodes.
