I suggest that Clinton advised Blair TO BACK THE WAR so that Bush would go down the tubes if the war went bad or it dragged out closer to the elections.I disagree. There was and is nothing about Blair's behavior and words that hints even a little of assuming a role for expediency's sake.
Besides, clinton was out vocally undermining the Bush administration and pushing the UN be given time business.
No, I've said several times before that I think clinton has been seething with jealousy for months since Bush and Blair forged their bond. And Blair has become a changed man, imo. I thought he had washed his hands of clinton and I still do. I think any meetings were not because he sought clinton out. I said above, it may be wishful thinking-----but I'll go with my hunch based on Blairs actions and most noble words.
Clinton is the one, I'm sure, who made sure The Guardian got wind of this story.

If Clinton advised Blair to back the war, and we know that Blair did, in fact, back the war, then what is the inconsistency in what I said? Blair a Bubba are both from the Left and were good buddies.

I didn't say you were inconsistant.
I think Blair backed the war out of honest conviction. Not because of any advice clinton gave him (and if clinton gave him advice it was not to back the war, is my guess).
I know the two *were* perceived as "good buddies", but those days have passed, I believe, and with them another page in clinton's legacy book.
