3 Marines were killed and 7 injured when test firing a new kind of grenade launcher. This happened near the Iraqi city of Al-Kut.

The Marines were part of the First MEU.

Seriously, cgk and Illbay, do you have any idea what Gyrenes would say if this accident had befallen soldiers (in the Army, btw)?

Something like, "....dumb f***ing dogfaces don't have enough sense to play with men's weapons......!"

We are a brotherhood of fighting men whether it be Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine Corps.
Our humor may be a little raw and rough around the edges, but we feel more grief for the loss of a brother than any civilian could understand.
We just show it in a different way.

My personal favorite target (despite what HC thinks) are the Swabbies, or Squids, as they are called today, yet my Navy brother was on a destroyer in the Pacific that was sunk by a Japanese sub in WW II.

Well, I'd like to shoot the darn thing myself!
I've been to the rifle range twice to shoot, but you'd think I wanted to set off a tatical nuke!
There's one small area where it's allowed to shoot a .50, and the county is working close by and won't let anyone shoot.

Can you make the shoot on April 17th at New Braunfels?
Besides the Barrett, I'm salivating over a Sharp's 45.70 buffalo gun which I'm probably not going to be able to live without.

The drill is that I fire four rounds, then gunner fires four rounds.
If it's going to blow, it will do so in the next four rounds.
You and Eaker can draw straws for the privilege of being the first person to have a Barrett blow up in your hands.
Heck, you might get your picture in some gun magazine as you lay in your hospital bed.........or casket.

We were testing some armor against various weapons once, when they fired an RPG one of the fins failed to deploy.

We all hit the deck, it flew around in circles & blew up right in front of a truck loaded with a large assortment of ammo. Pretty scary

Personally I hate the "Barf" comments and the < /sarcasm off> comments. They are not necessary and reduntant on a conservative site.
