It may have more to do with diet. Indians are mostly vegetarian; Chinese don't have much milk or lactose products in their diets. They are also big on some "uncommon" meats, unlike here in the US.
It may all come down to garlic!

Koreans eat more garlic than Italians. I don't know about other Asians.

Animal handler/chef, not mutually exclusive.
I read the Chinese delicacy known as monkey brains is where it came from.
Bad batch of monkeys, I guess.

I was on a flight from Korea to Taiwan and had a Chinese gentleman next to me who insisted on trying to converse with me although he didn't speak a word of Enlish nor I Chinese. This guy chain-smoked and had been eating a TON of garlic! Talk about chemical warfare!
