It may be rock n'roll, but we don't like it (class action lawsuit seeks $2 million from Creed)

It may be rock n'roll, but we don't like it
Tue Apr 22, 6:15 PM ET

CHICAGO (AFP) - Their albums may have gone platinum but a concert by popsters Creed left some fans distinctly unimpressed -- so much so they sued for a refund.

Four fans that attended a December 2002 concert by Creed outside Chicago filed a class action lawsuit in circuit court here Monday seeking two million dollars in damages from the band, its promoters, and the ticket-sellers.

The disgruntled concertgoers allege in court papers that the band's lead singer Scott Stapp was so "intoxicated and/or medicated that he was unable to sing the lyrics of a single Creed song."

"Instead ... Stapp left the stage on several occasions during songs for long periods of time, rolled around on the floor of the stage in apparent pain or distress and appeared to pass out while on stage during the performance."

The rocker's condition was clearly a result of an earlier drink or drugs binge, but the other band members and the concert promoters decided to press on with the concert anyway, the suit alleges.

The band later apologized to fans for any disappointment caused by "the most unique of all Creed shows," but urged them to remember "It's only rock and roll," in a message posted on their website.

But that doesn't appear to have cut much ice with the four plaintiffs who are looking to recoup the 227 dollars they shelled out on tickets and parking fees.

In total the suit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, seeks in excess of 2 million dollars for the 15,000 fans who attended the December 29 concert at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, from Creed, Ticketmaster (the organisation that sold the tickets) and promoters, Jeff Hanson Management and Promoters Inc.

In my defense, that was not a modeling shot - that was an action shot, as the raised katana indicates. (And the goblin sweat, although you can't smell that.) Had it been a model shot, my circlet would have been on my damn head straight and in line with my elaborate 'do, not perching on mid-brow. The conclusion is that I adjusted it right before combat. Goblins will make a girl primp like that. :)

Yes, I said PRIMP. With an R.

Hey now . . . that may just be an idea!

This year, unless rumor has it VERY wrong, I'll be an evil Corsican, twin to a woman who's about five feet tall. I think we should be under the misapprehension that we're identical.

I've been to Black Sabbath concerts, back in the 70's.

I guess I was too wasted to even think of getting a lawyer, or they lawyers hadn't figured out this angle yet.

Come on, you buy your ticket, you take your chances. I saw Elton John/Billy Joel when Joel had a cold and Elton was so horny his gay jokes were becoming disgusting.

I never even thought about suing. I'll just never pay for that ticket again. Freedom, it so confuses the left.
