It should be a fairly simply endeavor to follow the money. I wouldn't be surprised if Scotland Yard already had had this guy in its scopes. After 9/11, someone claiming to be pleading Iraq's case simply out of altruism would have attracted at least more than a passing glance out of the counterintelligence people.
