They were already punished.

Are these people paranoid or what?

Next is the evil Oil for Food Program and France's Hitler involvement.

The French are punished simply because they have to live in France with other Frenchmen.

I was just reading:

TotalFinaElf (French Oil co.) sees Iraqi contracts

Which had this statement:

PARIS (Reuters) - French oil company TotalFinaElf does not expect to be frozen out of oil contracts in Iraq despite France's tough opposition to the U.S.-led war, the firm's chief of exploration and production said Tuesday.

The Bush administration should start with TotalFinaElf!

Senior aides to US President George W. Bush met this week to consider ways to punish France for its opposition to the war on Iraq, including sidelining Paris at NATO and limiting its participation in transatlantic forums, officials said.

Oh please. This isn't punishment. France has demonstrated that they can't be trusted after they stabbed Colin Powell in the back and reneged on the UN resolutions. Quite frankly, they are not to be trusted with policy and now the only question left is how best to keep them out of positions where they can screw things up.

I wonder if this so-called "meeting" was suggested yesterday to the French press, and voila! we have today's French seeming backtracking on the sanctions issue today.

Tell France that they have to open the books (both sets) for the Oil for Food program. That'll take care of France.

What's a NATO?

Formerly an organization created to contain the Warsaw Pact. Now should be merged with the Warsaw Pact to contain France, Germany and Belgium.

"The officials, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said Vice President Dick Cheney's office had been particularly vocal in pressing for some kind of punitive measures to be taken against France."

The above and the fact that this is from AFP would qualify this story for a Double Grampa Dave Bull$hit award.
