Strom Thurmond to Make First Public Appearance Since Returning to S.C. (on Hooters Private Jet!)

Retired United States Senator Strom Thurmond is set to fly to his first public appearance since returning to the state-on the private jet of a Hooters Air executive.

No, there won't be any 'Hooter's Girls' on next month's flight to the 'Strom Thurmond Family Picnic' in Conway, not even a Hooters insignia-that owl with the bulging eyes- on the plane.

But not this flight.

'No, no, no -this is not a Hooters flight this is the private CEO's plane,' said picnic organizer and Horry Coutry GOP chairman Duane Oliver. 'There are no Hooters Girls.'

Hooters Air is a spinoff of the restaurant chain famous for its immodesly dressed waitresses and promises of 'two Hooters Girls provided by Hooters of America's Restaurants on each flight.'
