WHAT A BUNCH OF LOSERS HOLLYWOOD: FRANCE & CHIRAC: France's Chirac hailed the toppling of Saddam a day after Iraq's Independence Day, even in the light of his long history cozying up to his old pal. Certainly Chirac did everything in his power to push France as far away from the US and cuddled as close to the butcher of Baghdad during the months leading up to the war. You can't blame him though. Chirac and Saddam have been chummy for 30 years and Chirac called Saddam "a personal friend." So good in fact, Chirac built Hussein's nuclear power plant that was later bombed by Israel fighter jets. It will be interesting to see what other WMDs baring Chirac's fingerprints we will find in Iraq today...........

On "liberation day," as crowds in Baghdad cheered American Marine convoys as though they were the New York Yankees driving through the "Canyon of Heroes" in October, I couldn't help but think about what certain groups who opposed this military action must now feel like.
Collectively, leftists, "Old Euro" weenies and Bush-haters had done everything in their power to thwart this day of independence. So along with Saddam and his Baath party, the list of losers reads something like this:
As Iraqi men kissed photos of George W. Bush and sang praises towards the American president, Susan Sarandon and the other creme brules in Hollywood had no statement of apology for their outrageous comments while our troops were in harms way, nor for their attacks on Bush leading up to the conflict.
"Let us resist this war," Sarandon told a cheering crowd in Washington DC. "Let us hate war in all its forms, whether the weapon used is a missile or an airplane."
Of course, war in the form of a Democratic President launching the Tomahawks doesn't count. Sarandon loved Clinton and condoned his wars as did most of Hollywood. Alas, under Bush, Sarandon and her Hollywood pals signed up to become part of an anti-American group called "Not in our Name", joining the likes of America haters such as Noam Chomsky.
Independence day in Iraq was certainly "Not in their name!"

I think I'd rather believe my own eyes, than a fool with an agenda. If this is susposed to be a mea culpa Kristof better go back to school.
The Anti-Christ through peace will destroy many and when the time comes that the world thinks that they are in peace and safety, sudden destruction shall come. - (been watching the Omen!)
