Right. And, boiling it down, American government is not benevolent. It can't be: it's not wealthy (only the king or dictator or what-have-you would 'own' everything). Our government's not supposed to own anything.

So, in order for government to give anything to anyone, it must first take it from someone else. Which is why the ignorant social 'program' mentality is a house of cards.

So --- this guy gets some things; he doesn't get others.

I agree with you--if you're a social liberal, in many ways that means you have to be a fiscal liberal as well. But, it doesn't always. You're socially liberal if you want gays to be able to adopt children. You're socially liberal if you support abortion. Neither of those require tax dollars.
