Your comment about President Boren running is not factual and does not take into account his love for the University of Oklahoma. President Boren quit the Senate because of the liberal RATs and Clinton and is perfectly happy here at the University of Oklahoma which he says is his best job ever! He has stated over and over again he has no desire to return to D.C. Why would he? Pres Boren has done more for the University of Oklahoma then anyone and he should enjor the fruits of his labor which he is! Not to mention that President Boren serves as an advisor to President Bush!

Brad Henry getting to be Governor was a fluke caused by an Indy by the name of Gary Richardson whose no taxes at all and free tuition took 100,000 votes away mostly from Largent so that Henry beat Largent by less than 5,000 votes. That doesn't even count the 9,000 new voters from the Cherokees that were suspect or the fact that outlawing cockfighting on the ballot brought out Little Dixie voters.

By the time this bunch of RATs in our legislature get through, Oklahoma will be a Republican state at the State level as well.

Now for the Senate seat -- if Nickles doesn't run, you can write in J.C. Watts name and J.C. will win hands down. Brad Carson has been rumored to run as a RAT but he won't play well in the rest of the State like he does in NE OK which is all RAT.

I live in Cleveland County (home of OU) and for the first time ever we have more Republicans than DemocRATs registered! J.C. wants the nomination, IMO he will get it. Personally I miss J.C. being in the House who I think did a great job. I really hated to see him leave and would love to see J.C. in the Senate.

Then maybe Don Nickles would consider running for Governor in 2006! Would be my choice -- fiscal conservative is what we need in that office.

You always sit on the student side don't you? You let me know your seat and section number before the first home game. I'll bring it to you. I know... I owe you $10. Will gladly pay up. :)

I sit in Section 23 near the top but would like you to donate the bet to the #14 Foundation of Josh Heupel's -- very worthy cause to help young people succeed! I just wanted to kid around with you.

Looking forward to Fall and the start of football season after the Red and White game! Almost had a heart attack at the price of tickets but then realized we had 7 home games this year.

My son said that the pouring of concrete for the new section has been finished so it will be ready for football season.

I'm getting pretty sick of the Democrats rules that 60 votes is needed to pass "controversial" ie Republican legislation. It's not just Estrada.

Many people did not pay attention to the Senate in Feb. Esp with war stuff going on. Frist, Hatch and even Bush have already spent capital on Estrada and more will definitely be coming. I have been writing/calling. For people to say that the Repubs are giving up is nonsense. The Dems are practicing a scorched earth policy, and we need to call them on it.

Freepers, rather than waiting to see what happens with Estrada and Owen, we need to take the lead. That means presuring Senators, special interest groups, media organizations, etc. This thread is meant to be an ongoing effort to get this man confirmed. For too many years liberals have had their way on the courts. Now, President Bush is in a position to move the courts to the right. The election of '02 showed that the country is with the President. I think it's time to let Daschle, Hillary, and Pelosi know this is Bush country. Are you with me! Let's FREEP these people.

"Your comment about President Boren running is not factual and does not take into account his love for the University of Oklahoma."

Note I said "IF" the 'Rats could persuade him to run, I didn't say he was. If he did, he would be invincible.

"Brad Henry getting to be Governor was a fluke caused by an Indy by the name of Gary Richardson whose no taxes at all and free tuition took 100,000 votes away mostly from Largent so that Henry beat Largent by less than 5,000 votes. That doesn't even count the 9,000 new voters from the Cherokees that were suspect or the fact that outlawing cockfighting on the ballot brought out Little Dixie voters."

I think Largent himself totally blew it. He resigned his House seat arrogantly thinking it was a done deal, and he was quite mistaken on that account. I've had a personal beef against him ever since his jawdroppingly stupid comments regarding Elian Gonzalez and that he should've been sent back to Cuba. It was deeply offensive to me. Probably turned out to be a blessing in disguise that he lost and that OK will end up with a better GOP Governor in '06.

"By the time this bunch of RATs in our legislature get through, Oklahoma will be a Republican state at the State level as well."

Just like here in TN, the 'Rats hold their power solely through gerrymandering.

"Now for the Senate seat -- if Nickles doesn't run, you can write in J.C. Watts name and J.C. will win hands down. Brad Carson has been rumored to run as a RAT but he won't play well in the rest of the State like he does in NE OK which is all RAT."

I hope both J.C. and Carson run. Maybe we can persuade Dr. Coburn to come back and get his old House seat (we lost way too many seats because of Republicans who imposed term limits on themselves in marginal seats-- BIG mistake).

"Then maybe Don Nickles would consider running for Governor in 2006! Would be my choice -- fiscal conservative is what we need in that office."

Maybe, anyone but Steve Largent. I think Mary Fallin, though, might prove up to the task (as she has certainly had to rise to the occasion as the highest statewide GOP officer).

My brother works for the engineering firm that is doing oversight on the stadium renovations. He says it will take a miracle for it to be done by the first home game. I guess we'll see. :)

"With Fitzgerald (IL Republican Senator) definitely not running again, it may be in 2004 that the Rats are back in play for the Senate."

The Democrats have as much chance of taking back the senate in 2004 as the Republicans do of getting 60 seats. Each event could happen, but everything would have to break one way (or the other).

I would like to see JC Watts. maybe he could counter some of that, if you're a minority you have to be a Dem stuff...

The Senate needs more men and women like Don Nickels. He's got the ability, talent, and philosophy that could make him a legendary Senator.

I hope he stays.
