I may be the exception but I did wade through Uncle Bill's list. I was looking for some specific information and I found it. I probably could have found it elsewhere but this made it much easier.

I needed it to respond to an editorial charge that Bush's "compasionate conservatism" was endangered by the cost of the war in Iraq. Facts are facts, they can be used in different contexts. I appreciate his effort.

This is a Congressional endeavor. Reauthorization is a legislative process.

Bush is not involved until both chambers pass the bill and it is delivered to his desk.

Chuck Baldwin is a shameless disgrace. What a dishonorable hack job.

I was just helping someone with a link. I did it out of blind good will, not as an endorsement.

My objection is that he created this thread without any thoughtful commentary or insight, and larded it obscenely with unrelated anti-Bush reports ... including one from 1999. That's disreputable behavior.

I wish the individual would grope around and find that long missing ballsack and actually articulate his objections to the Bush tax proposal, budget, appropriation initiatives and every other thing that is making him a cuckoo bird. Belching out a bevy of links is lazy disdain and shows no investment of time and thought at all.

With all those links, I'm sure he's been able to cultivate a cogent argument to justify his Bush animus. Let's see it.

This forum is history if we can't expect the members to comport themselves in an honest way. Bush isn't an Ayatollah. He's not a Generalissimo. He's not a Sultan. Or a King. Or a Czar. Or a God. Or a Pope. Or a Shah. Or a Sheik. Or Steven Spielberg.

He's the Top Officer in the Executive Branch. He doesn't tax, appropriate, legislate or oversee. It's not HIS governent. He doesn't reign supreme. His sh** stinks every couple years or so. He's not only the President of Hair Club for Men .. He's also a Member.

Let's debate in a spirit of "helloooo... real world next stop." I hate when people throw dishonest premises out to the jackals and everybody just jumps on the make-believe-trolley to Smearland.

I appreciate your suggestions. I can tell that you don't know much at all about the proposed NRST.

I suggest you do some quick reading here and here for FAQ.

Let me being by saying two things:
1) there are NO exceptions, NO exemptions, NONE
2) there is only ONE rate for ALL products and ALL people

Please learn about the bill. Until then, you're part of the problem ... an uneducated populace.

Me too. I HATED CFR, and called the White House, my senators, and so on. Unless my membership lapsed, I'm in the NRA. Three weeks ago I got to fire an M-16 with the ROTC guys, and I'm working on getting an invite to fire the .50 cal.

But I'm being realistic. There are 10% of the people out there who care passionately about the "gun issue" as opposed to a blanket law to take away all guns (which would be strongly resisted by about 70% of the public, IMHO). The other 90% do not see marginal violations of the 2nd amendment which (it can be argued by the people who propose these laws) is linked to "terrorism." So for people here to think that support of this position---and I'm still not sure Bush really supports it---will "cost Bush the election," well, they are simply living in a dream land.

Look at CFR: the resistance to that in some quarters was vehement . . . yet it has fizzled out. Bush is counting on the Congress not renewing this, then he can't be targeted in the election by a lib saying, "Oh, he wants to fight terrorism, but he just killed a bill that prohibited terrorists from buying weapons."

Hm, no answer from Uncle Bill forthcoming...

I just figure all the folks posting on FR who never voted for President Bush in the first place are no loss come 2004.

How long have we been in the useless UN? Decades. How long have we been pouring money into the bottomless pit that is Africa? Decades. Who are you, Hans Blix? You want more time to inspect?

Well, I guess you think if you get snotty enough with me I'll never disagree with Bush again ever, on anything. You can forget that, go spank yourself if that's your thing. And remember, Bush isn't TRYING to get us out of the UN, he isn't TRYING to get us out of this useless "save the world" mentality. He likes it! I don't! That's the way it is. If you can't handle it, this world just may be too tough for you.

I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. He's got two or three wars going at a time and the economy to deal with with recalcitrant liberal Republicans and Democrats who WANT the economy to stay bad for political reasons. It's like boxing with one hand tied behind your back. Get off of his.

No. Who are you to tell me what to do? I like Bush just fine but I'm going to say what I want and I want us out of the UN and I want no more tax-payer money funnelled off to subsidize dictators and protsitutes in Africa. That's how I feel and that's what I'm saying and I'm saying it when I want, where I want, how I want, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Woman, I think you need to look back over my posts on this thread... and then look at your own... and then think over your manners... and then step off and not address me again for a good, long while.
