The head of the National Organization for Women's Morris County chapter is opposing a double-murder charge in the Laci Peterson case, saying it could provide ammunition to the pro-life lobby.
"If this is murder, well, then any time a late-term fetus is aborted, they could call it murder," Morris County NOW President Mavra Stark said on Saturday.

PBA will not be legal for much longer. I wonder if this same women would then consider it murder. I don't think so.

So, as far as NOW is concerned, if some guy wants his girlfriend to have an abortion and she doesn't, he can just knock her out, perform a C section himself, murder the baby, and not be charged for murder! Now that's the kind of "civil" society we want to live in! In states like New Jersey, the guy would not be charged with murder but he still would be charged with some type of assault. It is not as if his actions aren't criminal. I still think the NOW gals are going way over the top here. They are extremists to the hilt.

This will backfire until everyone realizes the truth about abortion.
To: Mark Felton
What morons. Once the mother's life was snuffed out, the baby's followed. Besides, how do these pukes know how the baby died? I'm glad to see the NAG gang thinks they're coroners now as well.
If the baby died as a direct result of Laci's being murdered, how is that (cause and effect) any different from someone being charged with murder when their victim dies from a heart attack after being attacked by that person?

I agree it was a double murder and I feel anyone who could do such a thing as kill their pregnant wife with premeditation and not in the middle of a heated argument is a selfish greedy sociopath with no conscience, not to mention stupid and deserving of all the punishment they get....
To: pchuck
Yes, in the old days, hurting a pregnant woman meant the bell, book, and candle.

Amen! Lord save us from local talk radio where "screeners" aren't sharp enough to filter-out nitwits who spew forth their profound "gems", convinced that no one else is bright enough to have thought of them.

I was scanning the replies specifically to see if anyone would make this point. The NOW has painted themselves into a corner. If an unborn person is wanted then he/she is human. Otherwise he or she is not human.
Does this "logic" apply to born people?
The headline to this story should read, "NOW Officially Recognizes the Hypocrisy of Abortion".

I wonder if this same women would then consider it murder. I don't think so I doubt it also. It was amazing to hear her basically state that a 8 month old baby was a non-entity.

I've been saying for years that the NOW position amounts to demanding the Deity of the Feminine. The question of when life begins is reduced to a choice, life begins when momma damn well sez so!

Well, if that lady is right, perhaps Laci objected to her baby being aborted and Scott had to kill her, too?
DUH.

God made it as plain as he could, by delivering that baby to the shore ahead of his mother, that he wants that baby spoken for. Excellent insight, a Blessed Easter to you!

Pathetic is too kind a word. Scott killed two people, period. That baby boy would have been viable outside the womb and those bitches at NOW know it.

If the mother's death was truly accidental, Scott probably would have called 911, got emergency help, and the baby could have been delivered and lived.
I can't buy the idea some people have that this murder was accidential. I firmly believe that this was a pre-conceived, plotted homicide. This guy has never shown any type of emotion. He's never once shown any real concern for her loss or the baby's. His demeanor is not that of someone who accidentally caused the death of their wife and child. If anything, he's appeared to be pretty relieved to be rid of them both. I didn't even see any emotion or concern on his face in the brief video of him at the sheriff's department. It's as if this guy has a stone, cold heart. No, this wasn't an accident, this was murder caused by an extremely evil person.
