Coming soon to a 24-hour news network near you.

I also kind of miss Shep and his kidding around with the imbeds. He grew on me as the war went on. There was also another General who was quite good, but I don't remember his name.
There was such a sense of being in the middle of the making of history. I had that feeling when Kennedy was killed (not that I liked him), but it was real history.
We have the great privilege of being able to be hooked up by some extraordinary communication facilities to be in the middle of what is happening. It is utterly incredible.

I don't think anyone will ever forget watching and listening at times) the convoy when they crossed Iraq.
What ever happened to the muslim guy that killed his commander by throwing grenades in the tents.

I feel your pain.
Victory is sweet, but I keep looking for something "else" out there to indicate what will happen next, so many post-war uncertainties in Iraq. I dont think we've "won" the peace yet, and I am worried that we wont find the WMDs and/or wont get a stable and democratic state in Iraq. I want to make sure the victory doesnt become a hollow one. Or maybe that's an excuse to keep coming back because you become wrapped up in it and it is just had to let go of habits ... ha, I told my wife to pull me off of FR last sunday, I was addicted and needed to get back to normal ... one week later, still trolling for news late night. LOL. G'nite all.

I'm with you there!!! I can't figure out why there is no reporters with the 4th infantry???? They just went in and they are fighting some battles from what I get from the print media, where's the cameras with them???

They should have shot that guy on that spot. He's going to get away with less than the death penalty. The longer it takes, the more public opinion will ameliorate what he did.

"There was also another General..."
Was it McInnerney? Scales? Scales always smiled. He looked like the cat who swallowed the canary.
I miss all the late night-early morning stuff - fighting, chatting, analyzing, etc. It was addictive.

I was just thinking about the technology that will surely come in the next few years...we haven't seen anything yet!
I don't want any wars either, but I don't see that perps will give us any choice.
